Re: Black is where it's at
Saw a black Sciroco in the showroom today, that's not the same black cos its photoshopped and misses the pearl (sparlke) effect.

Re: Black is where it's at
too dark for me. i wanted to see the black wing mirrors / grilles / diffuser offset with a brighter colour!
but some people like the all black look tho. They're even offering the wheels in black on the Golf R of course.

Re: Black is where it's at
No I'm just being hopeful Got to be positive and not listen to all these rumours of not seeing it until next summer. Must be complete nonsense and until I hear otherwise from dealer then I'm counting down the days until March. What makes you so certain that there is going to be a problem with a March delivery for most of us?
Re: Black is where it's at
i have confirmed build week 3. if they can't ship it i might ask to fly out to portugal and drive it back to blighty!!!

Re: Black is where it's at
hmm, interesting. Hope for mine yet! I will chase up my proposed build week 2 in January sometime.GTI2RocR wrote:i have confirmed build week 3. if they can't ship it i might ask to fly out to portugal and drive it back to blighty!!!
I cant help but think people that have had their build week moved later is because their dealer has been a bit slow on the uptake or used their allocation.
My dealer isn't stressing at all and seems sure I will see my R in march ...time will tell!

Re: Black is where it's at
I don't think any dealership ship has an allocation. Its just merely first come, first served for the 250 for the UK. I got told from my dealer that I was in the December allocation (which was good apparently), probable build week of late Jan or early Feb and delivery should be in March for a nice new 10 plate. Come to think of it, does anyone know how the new registrations will look since we're moving into 2010. Are they moving from a '0' and '5' to a '1' and a '6'? I think very early orders for the R (first couple of weeks of it being open to order) will maybe have went into a November allocation but I'm not 100% sure of that. We need some more black pics up here!!
Re: Black is where it's at
Negatove, its deof not first come first served, thats why they went through that whole new process off collecting orders. Cars will be allocated by VW, not by who was first in the que. I also don't expect that dealers who are gettign multiple cars will see them close together in the year either.BrownBear wrote:I don't think any dealership ship has an allocation. You're living in a bit of a dream world if you;re expecting it in March.
I know i'm not
Re: Black is where it's at
why would they give u build weeks in Jan if its a "dream" to even think we'll get it in march?
1 week to build the car...then you have whole month of Feb to send the car over. And I'm sure the boat trip from Portugal to Blighty does not take 4 weeks.
If they issued build weeks in March...fair enough. But why build a car in Jan if you're not gonna send it to its customer in the weeks after? This is a special low run production...not mass production that can sit in a car park for months on end till someone wants a car in similar spec. Normal Roc's I hear have 6 month waiting lists....so no Roc should be built and left sat at the docks really for any length of time. Should be off the production line and straight onto a boat. Simple business logic that if the product is in demand.
I'm expecting mine in Feb....March at the latest.
