Any idea on prices on the body parts? I can see them for lots of the parts but not the bumpers, spoiler, etc. (I am looking on my phone though so may just be missing them because of that!).

I was wondering if i order the r-line multi-function steering wheel with paddleshifts, would it work in my car? Because mine is the mk5 steering wheel and since this is the mk6 steering wheel how would it work?? Also is there a way to change the speedometer and the ac unit to the mk6 generation ones?.....cheers

More info on the LEDS....

LED day driving light Scirocco R
1K8 941 055 - left - £75.67
1K8 941 056 - right - £75.67

Image

Still unsure on exactly what a retro fit will require.. i.e. where the indicator will go, how to turn off power to the old sidelights cable.

I have read a while back that the "R"'s LED DRL's are a little shorter width wise. ie. a gap will be apparent on the inboard end in the standard indicator/sidelight mounting point. An the other thing is the ETKA above is suggesting a mounting bolt securing it from the back, not from underneath. (That could be sorte by some sort of backing plate through which the bolt passes and the plate rest on the internal bumper structure.)

The indicators are mounted in the xenon lamps on the R, so unless you fancy going out and buying some new lamps plus the cost of the drl's I think you may be out of luck.
Just go and buy an R! Lol

Yeah I noticed that too, as I had removed my unit the other night and the screw was from the front.

Yeah the chap in the parts dept is still trying to identify where the indicator lamp is on the R, if its in the main headlights unit then obviously I'm not going to bother chasing this up, as otherwise I would have gone for it :D

I really want a Roc R but just can't afford it lol

So for clarity, you've put the "R"'s LED DRLs in a standard Scirocco bumper exactly as the standard sidelight / indicator unit fits, secured the same way with a securing screw at the front underneath? And you've put the turn signal indication where?

Guys I haven't done anything yet apart from taking the original one out and having a look behind it. The 'R' parts are currently on back order from the factory and could take weeks to arrive for dealers to order them.
stdci wrote:what?! Its so easy...blinker goes to the original DRL light, DRL becomes the Led one... :eyepop:
Its a completely different connection, the original drl has a W5W 501 plug on the end of it, the new R DRLs use a 3pin connection, so it's not so easy as cables will have to be modified.
The original blinker is or I hope is on a 3pin connection (once removing the blinker holder), therefore I would take that off and possible use that but it would require VAGCOM recoding.

But since your saying its so easy please help me as I am being a complete tw*t if it really is that easy - photos would help as both me and the guys in parts haven't worked out where the indicator bulb is in the 'R'

Thanks in advance

Can you just expand on this a little....

How are the new DRLs being powered?
How is the indicator being powered, and did you get a new bulb, as the old bulb is clear and needs the orange reflector - the new drl unit won't have an orange reflector built in it, so did you get an orange bulb?
Was there any VAGCOM recoding required?

If you could answer those questions that would be of great help.

I´ll try my best...

You´ll need a vulgar blinker lamp like the passat or touareg bi-xenon headlights have (osram diadem for exº), you have to conect the original blinker wires to the old DRL (made by professionals). Its easier like this...turn DRL Off with vag com (it wont ask for the lamp), R LED lights will work everytime you turn parking lights on, you have to get wires conected to it (also by a professional). All conections are different but an electrician expert in can bus modules can do it.
