I think they're a lot clearer to read than the blue dials. It is indeed an awesome car :D

silly me of course i can see the R logo on the steering wheel. lol

its just my brother had an old polo and his dial were that lovely blue, i just thought most VW models had it.
nevermind

actually looking at the vw site, it looks like its only the R models that have the blue dials.most other models have white readouts and red dials.
okay thats cool.

I was dissapointed with this as well. I loved the blue instruments on my Mk4 GTi.

All VW from 1999 to 2008 had the blue lit dials.
The new models are now white.
The R versions have blue needles.

MY2010 :) white dash display and multi-function GTi-style steering wheel!
So far we've found: Flat Tyre Indicator, RNS510 SatNav with Premium Bluetooth & ipod/media-in connection, Parking Sensors (a must-have!), electric folding/heated mirrors,
Had the stainless sills fitted by the dealer, & luxury mats supplied. Fitted the covered cupholder myself

We have a 2001 Mk4 Golf GTi as well, and I like the blue dials. I also like the white effect on our new Scirrocco's dials.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anybody with access to the parts catalogue know if the little R badge on the lower "spoke" of the steering wheel is available separately? If so, please would you divulge the part number?
