HELP REQUIRED PLEASE!!

Hi Guys & Girls,

First time postee here! I have recently had the plesure of picking up my 2.0 TSI GT and now have a few questions.

Firstly does anyone know if I can play DVD's or any sort of film media through my media in cable in the armrest? I dont have the Sat Nav function if this means anything?

Also, I'm looking to buy some Steel Sills and Rubber Mats, however does anyone know where I can buy these without getting ripped off by my local dealship please?

can't help with the dvd question but i'm sure a technical minded person will be along soon.

with regard to the sills & rubber mats;
there are a few dealers going through ebay for the sills but once you factor in postage its cheaper to go to your local dealer & no one has come up with anything alternative yet.
for the rubber mats there is a company on ebay selling mats but they are not genuine vw & not sure what they are like, the genuine vw ones aren't that expensive (fronts - 1K2 061 541 041 £26.30, rears - 1K0 061 511 041 £24.20) but are very good quality (I picked mine up the other week)

Not sure about the other bits, but the short answer to your question is "no".
- You can play just the audio from a DVD player/media player using the aux-in.
- You can play MP3 music through the USB cable, but cannot play any DiVX, MP4, AVI etc..

If you had the Sat Nav, you can view normal DVD movies (not DiVX etc).

you cant play any type of film media through the armrest,you can only play dvds and for this you have to have the sat nav sorry

Ah Thanks guys for helping me out. I think I'll be popping to my local dealer after all for a set of rubber mats(don't want to waste the ones I have just now during the wet winters).

In regards to the DVD/Media question:

* Is there any way I can upgrade my unit to include this function

or

* Can anyone recommend some decent DVD units that dont look like a mass of mess in the car for the little on ein the back please?

captainlj, The only soution I can reccomend (when keeping tidyness in mind like you had suggested) would be to sell the RCD 510 that you currently have in the car, and upgrade to the RNS 510... Ebay is your friend for this kind of thing.
