I think im going to cancel my order on this.

30k + with leather, Dsg, Perl Paint and 19" Wheels.

I love my R32 soo much and would love another hot VW from new, but this price seems mega mega silly for FWD hatch.

Ive got the new scirooco spec pdf if anyone wants it :)

Golf R and Scirocco R roll out for ordering
28 Oct 09

1353-09

The Golf R 2.0 TSI 270PS 4Motion and Scirocco R 2.0 TSI 265PS 2WD open for ordering on Friday 30 October. As we expect production volumes for 2010 to be approximately 500 cars, these cars will only be available for sold customer orders.

Ordering process
There is a new ordering process for the new R models. By ensuring production allocation is assigned to retailers that have signed customer orders we will minimise delivery delays.

* Fax a copy of the signed customer order to 01908 489575. Orders received without a customer signature will NOT be processed
* The allocations are available in line with your Golf Mk6 and Scirocco quotas
* We will contact each Retailer within 48 hours with the commission number(s) by telephone
*
To ensure the fairest and most equitable process, the first two weeks’ orders will be collated before being placed with the Factory. You will not be contacted until after the initial two-week period. We will then confirm if your order has been successfully placed. Please manage your customers' expectations accordingly
* Each Retailer then has a 48 hour period to check (and query) the specification

Initial launch cars have been ordered and will be allocated shortly. Current production forecasts indicate that the first customer deliveries will be able to take place from March 2010. Please make sure customers are aware of the long lead times for these vehicles.

The UK test drive of the Scirocco R has already occured and there will be reports in the press from early November. The Golf R UK test drives are scheduled to occur in late November and we expect the reports to appear in the press from early January 2010.

In this bulletin you will find:
Overview
Golf R pricing
Scirocco R pricing
Technical specification, upholstery and paint colours

Golf R

Scirocco R

The new R models have higher levels of specification than those found on the previous range-topping models, the Golf GTI and Scirocco GT. This includes:

* 18-inch Talladega alloy wheels
* Bi-xenon headlights
* LED daytime running lights
* Unmistakable R-model bumpers and side skirts

Inside, the R models have distinctive Piano Black and Silver Lane inserts, with contrast stitching and eye-catching Kyalami cloth upholstery, putting the cabins in a different league to those of their competitors.

For an even more premium feel, optional leather upholstery is expected to be popular on both models, and Recaro part-leather sports seats can be specified on the Golf R.

Customers can opt for 19-inch Talladega alloys on both models. These can also be ordered in black on the Golf R.

Where 19-inch alloys (either black or silver) are ordered on Golf, they will also be fitted with black headlight surrounds.

For full specification, see the price lists: Golf R, click here. Scirocco R, click here. These models will be live on volkswagen.co.uk on Friday 30 October.

For a comparison of engine specification and paint and upholstery combinations, see table below.

It's the styling that I like. The 0-62 figures are negligible when you take a GT and remap it.

But 32k For a Speced up Roc with DSG, Leather, 19", Pearl Paint + a few other little goodies.. You could get it upto 36k if you wanted..

This is a FWD hatch/coupe were talking about. Derby, your roc looks mint, sure it would hang with a new r no problems in the wet or dry. If the Roc R was AWD it would be a different proposition.

Silly money.
I just specced one up to the same as I already have and it was just short of 31k.
That's basically another 6 grand for 1 second off the 0-60 time and xenon lights.
Sorry but that's just daft.

I was being very open minded about the R and would have been really tempted by one if it looked like a much better product than the GT. I specced one up the same as my GT and it came to £31k! Given that it will be slower than my Revo’d car in-gear I won’t be changing as I’m not paying 6 grand for zenons an electronic LSD and a body kit. The fact you have to pay extra for 19s is a disappointment too as is the lack of 4wd (which we already knew about). Looks like I’m holding out for a blue sport now…shame, as I’d happily have paid 30k for a 4wd roc. Looking forward to someone getting an R revo’d though.

Specced mine up with just the 19's and smokers pack and it's well over 10k more than I paid for my 1.4!!! Now I know there is a considerable amount of extra performance but worth 10k more :?

I agree a Remapped R will be worth seeing. I have also specced my current options onto the R and am hitting around 30k. Expenisive but in some defense the car is great looking, already lowered, upgraded brakes etc. I cant justify spending that much money as far as logic goes, but I want one anyway. If I had the money at the moment I would just do it. I like it that much as Im sure most people do. Time to start saving again guys

revo stage 1 on my gti is 10bhp less than what a roc r will be (based on s3 figures), its a lot of fun but not enought to make me shell out £30k for it :yes:

I have to say i would love one, but at circa 30k with a few toys on its just too near to 1 year old boxster/cayman territory for me. At the 26k base price it looks quite reasonable, but without even leather included looks a bit steep once specced up. Dread to think how much the Golf R will be! :eyepop:
