Re: What do you generally carry around in the boot!?
I just opened my bonnet to fill up the screenwash and found a snail clamped to the underside of it!
I'd just come back from Reading so it was quite toasty under there. I unstuck him and lobbed him in to the greenery by the petrol station. Bit safer there fella!

i am still waiting for mine to arrive next year, but in my prev. car i had the following ( items i know i would put back in the Roc or have its VW equivalent);
Thick winter jacket
a towel from fitnessfirst ( in case i forgot to pack mine rom home)

snow shovel
tampax ( the military said its the best thing to put on top of wounds as it is clean and light)
rain repellent
warning triangle & hi-vis vest
spare lightbulbs
spanner & socket set
silicone blade for scrapping water off ( pretty handy for spontanious acts of carwash away from home)
latex gloves

tyre repair foam

200+ cds ( copies or cds borrowed from people so long ago i forgot who they were)
1 x valentine card ( it was a premium one but got it for 10p from a newsagent 2 yrs ago)
3 x boxes of tissues ( for days of flu)
spare contact lenses
packet of playing card
torch
ice scrapper and de-icer
air-con cleaning spray

Re: What do you generally carry around in the boot!?
yeah you are right Trix, i used to carry so many things i never end up using.
the trouble is, i tend to add things over the years, rather than empty the boot out and do a review. The boot became an extention of the garden shed
the CDs have to go, as i just found out they weigh about 5kgs!!
but the airhammer is a must as i just prefer to change the puncture quickly without waiting around.

I think you can swap the 200 CDs for one 32Gb USB stick or SD card. I'm sure it'll be a lot lighter, and easier to choose your tracks!!!skyblues11 wrote:...

Get back to your VW dealer in that case, mine doesn't rattle at all and I haven't heard about anyone else's doing that either!pat15312 wrote:my bonnet stay as it rattles like a bastard if i leave it in the engine bay... cheapo vw must think dampers cost too much these days...

I keep nothing in mine, except the spare wheel and associated bits. Seems a bit pointless carrying all that other stuff about!

its more to do with paranoia, about what may happen.
that image of David Banner changing his puncture in the driving rain ( before he turned green!) had haunted me since my childhood!
hence the airhammer had to stay!

Re: What do you generally carry around in the boot!?
I live out of my boot! (im in hotels all week!) so I have an assortment of shoes, gym bag and gear as well as essentials like jump leads, screenwash and notepads.
Also I have the Paintguard kit that came with the car (first aid kit plus all the cleaning materials), very handy1
