There are always build delays with new cars, I remeber all this 3 years ago with my Astra VXR - people cancelling their order coz it's weeks late etc. I understand that it can be complicated due to selling their car - it's just strange to be hearing all this again. You'll always look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

I'd pressure the dealer for a courtesy car or hit the roof, think cancelling the car would be cutting your noise off to spite your face.

I'm not sure I'd want them to sprint through the PDI to make sure you get it in a day or so. Whenever I get told mine is in I'm happy to wait a week or so to collect it.

Odered mine a week ago. Had phone call Friday from Dealer saying as I wanted a Pano roof not to expect it until early March!! To say I was annoyed is an understatement!! Have now opted out of having roof and they expect it to be mid Jan!!

Just back from paying the deposit now. Told to expect 12 - 16 weeks (better than the 20 weeks that I expected!) So a March delivery - might be to do with the Pano Roof. Oh well, at least it should be here for the 09 plate. The wait begins! But half of the fun is the anticipation apparently :dancer:

Nah bollox to it - I want it now!!! I'll let you know estimated build dates etc. Cheers folks!

I test drove a focus ST / Volvo C30 D5 / Mercedes CLC 180K

The A3 and BMW 1... just got a quick look around... the 1.6 or 1.9TDI (105PS) seems far too slow... the BMW is still in my mind but the Scirocco looks nicer and is not so common.... Also I couldn't afford the better stereo with the 18" wheels which made all the difference, the Scirocco Radio is one of the main points for me.

1. Looks
2. Feel
3. Performance / Gadgets

I've been leaving messages at the dealer for the last week to try and getting folding mirrors and parking sensors added to the spec. Finally spoke to someone this morning and been told I'm confirmed for build week 3 and so the spec can't change.

Very happy about when it will be built but bloody raging the spec can't change now. How hard was it for them to return one of my calls?

Dealer says he should be able to retro fit the parking sensors for me but not the mirrors. Not sure if I'll go for it.
