Hi all: has anyone out there tried the latest generation of iPod Classic in their Scirocco?
I'm specifically talking about the newest 160gb variant of the Classic described at http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/s ... TAyNTQwMDY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Anyone got some experience good or bad?
Cheers,
Jim

I have a 120gb ipod classic and use it everyday, so i cant imagine it would be any different just bigger memory

Re: Is the new iPod Classic compatible with the RNS510?
I've an (almost new) 120GB and this works fine with the RCD510 (I've not gone for the sat nav option). Only noticed last week that Apple had changed this to the 160GB version, rather strange as the 120GB replaced the previous 80GB / 160GB models as a middle of the road compromise. Wish I'd held out a bit longer, but had no idea they were replacing the 120GB so soon.
But I am going down the route of using cheap 8GB / 16GB USB memory sticks and copying my itunes music onto these instead. Doesn't give the same capacity as a full iPod, but it's a cheap way to carry my music around for use in the car and I'd be happy to leave a £10 / £20 stick in the car rather than unplug and take out the iPod every time I park up. Sound quality from the memory stick seems to be as good as (if not better) than the iPod, although I've not really done enough comparisons between formats yet to pick a winner. (Only had my car a couple of weeks). I've got the dynaudio system and sound quality is very good from whichever source used.
I know this doesn't directly answer your question but hope it is of use to yourself and others who read this forum.

Just to close the loop on this, I took the plunge and bought a 160gb iPod Classic. Seems to work OK, but it is a little big laggy (so will be keeping an eye on the discussion at http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 28&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
