Well, supposedly my car went for build 2 weeks ago. The lastest the lease guy told me was that the car was waiting shipment.

He then told me that I am looking at 4 weeks from now, so beginning of November to get it delivered, that just seem like a load of bull to me

Hi,

Order form & deposit completed 12th July
Update 16th July - Factory Ordered 14th July - estimated build date Wk43.
Update 5th August – on Factory Order - estimated build date Wk42.
Update 20th August - on Factory Order – estimated build date Wk42.
Update 18th September – still on Factory Order – estimate build date remains Wk42.

Update 29th September - Rang Milton Keynes today. They were able to confirm my order has gone production firm on Wk42 Yeah!!! (And it's been that status for a little while, from others I guess since Wk38)
Update 30th September, now told it will be Wk43 build. :fall: :fall: :fall:

When I queried the lady on the phone why the dealer may not have informed me given Wk42 1.4TSi orders were production confirmed during week 38 to others, she said the dealer should be looking at the "Brand Option" section of the system. The dealer has access to that.

Which means I can expect the car in my sticky mits about the 2nd week of November, all being well. :hyper:

Well, further to yesterday's post, my boss went and found out what was happening for me, and came back with:

"The good news is that your car has actually now been manufactured, and is currently in transit. The bad news is that it could still be 3 or 4 weeks".

That's from my order going to Arnold Clark Finance on the 8th of June. So about 19/20 weeks total?

How soon before predicted build week should it become fixed? I'm still provisionally 44, shouldn't this be firmed up sometime soon?

I spoke to my dealer today and got the registration for my car, which is apparently in the country!

I've been told to expect delivery on 5/6 October (a week today! ). If this happens then my order -> delivery time will have been 16 weeks.

Roll on next week!

Mine was built in week 37 too, and now I'm being told to expect it to be deliver on October 23rd, so around 6 weeks. Do they have a donkey towing it from Portugal? :grumpy:

It's here :hyper:

Collected it from the dealer this morning. It's already filthy and the weather is pretty shocking so no pictures as yet, but big smiles all round.

Only one hiccup: it seems that due to an oversight, the car had been supplied without the Navigation DVD, so there were no maps installed and the RNS510 was in German mode (it seems the English Language option has to be installed from the DVD). Managed to get it sorted though, another dealership in the same group have loaned me a DVD and I've installed it myself. I did mean going 30+ miles out of my way - the perfect excuse to drive it some more!

It's going to take some real self control to take it easy over the next 1500km of running in! :)

RAGIN'

Won't get my car till November I've been told. Now my car got built over 3 weeks ago and last update was that is was waiting shipment. Got the vehicle admin to give a call today and ask the guy at Arnold Clark WTF is he up to !!

Is it possible for me to try and get the number of the VW garage that the order went through. I can only think he is trying to fill quotas.. so angry !!!!!

*UPDATE*

Well I phoned VW, a ship arrived into Tyne on Saturday, they reckon my car was on that ship. If it was then it will arrive in Greenock by end of the week latest. They said they will priority push it when it arrives, so hopefully if all goes well.... then I should get it by end of next week. Hopefully the start of cause I am off for a week !!! Best order some cleaning stuffs.

update from my dealer
listen to this for german efficiency!
apparently my roc was put on the WRONG ship, and went to sheerness instead of grimsby, hence the delay in it reaching northern ireland!
welshjim, it seems like you were correct in saying our cars were ship mates (only mine was on the wrong F***ing ship).
honestly you could nt make some of this stuff up.
vw = joke
