Why would the radio cutting out not save fuel? :?

ZephyR every other car I've tried with the stop start mechanism keeps all the anciallaries like radio, lights etc running while the engine shuts down.

Sat in my first 10My today and have to say personally i like the new steering wheel and cluster. I sat in my car straight after and didn't think either one looked better, thought both looked right with the 10My obviously looking the more modern as i am used to the 09My wheel from previous VW ownership.

Have to say i have always thought the Climate unit on the 09My looks out of place but with the red MFD it doesn't look too bad. In the 10My though with the white MFD i think the climate unit looks even more out of place, i think it's a real shame that VW didn't include the new climate controls in the 10My. Despite peoples views on the looks of the 10My climate unit i don't think you can dispute it's more cohesive with the rest of the interior than the blue illumination on the 09My unit.

The use of the 09My unit with the blue illumination on the Roc is purely a cost cutting exercise by the VW bean counters and ultimately frustrating for us owners parting with our cash.

Thanks for the info markito - very useful, nor heard about some of that.

As an aside here in UK we sometimes think how good it is that as so many people speak good English we get contributions from people all over the world - like yourself. But the flip side is that unlike you (and many other continental residents) who can speak not only your own language but English and probably another language too - when we a presented with a German, Spanish or Italian site we haven't a clue what they are saying.

No problem...I just try to be helpful to other scirocco fans :)

Taken from the german forum and traslated with google

http://www.rocco3.de/wbb/index.php?page ... eadID=1553" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So, in calendar week 45 the “small model year change” lines up with Volkswagen.
The following will come, according to current conditions, with the Scirocco.

Colors:
Night Blue
Silver Leaf
Rodium grey

Interior:
Dekore piano lacquer black

Function:
Back driving camera “Rear Assist”
Keyless Go

Outside:
19 " light alloy wheel “Lugano” black set off

Special models:
“Team”

Additives:
R-LINE Exterieur
R-LINE Interieur

They said that the info comes directly from VW and the 147kw (200) IS NOT LONGER AVAILABLE FOR ORDER :) , 210hp IS COMING :) :)

if its true its a F**** good news :)

Now gone

Does anyone know if DAB affects the new rear camera at all? I've spec'd DAB and if it means losing out on something else, I'll bin it as DAB reception where I live is pretty poor.

Also, re. the new colours, will they be available in UK and does anyone have any links? Are they current VW colours, so I can check out other cars in the VW range to see if they're nice or not.

Good news on the power increase, if it turns out to be true. I'll take +10bhp, thanks!!

I wouldn't be surprised if you can't order here yet. If these options are not in the brochures in the dealers showrooms then they are not on general sale in UK.
You might get the odd dealer who is prepared to make some enquiries about these options.
However as many peeps are being quoted delivery dates of March 2010 for new orders - that takes us a long way past week 45.
Considerer also - you order a 200 PS Roc and get a 210 PS Roc delivered. Fine until you find that your insurance has gone up another group.

I spoke to my UK dealer 08/09 about my pending Roc due to be delivered Jan 2010 and he advised he is not aware of any changes and that they are pretty well on top of things like this normally.

knd of yeah, think it powers the electrics and that gets recharged by the car, therefore, would it save any fuel if your radio went off, answer no.

Hey Figface, maybe your car has a new feature where the battery gets charged by the alternator without any drain on the engine. I'd patent that if I was you, you'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams!
