I think there are two arguments to this. Competition is healthy, plus people have already pledged their allegiance to one or the other.
Athough things are a little quieter here, some of the tech stuff is first class.
Every forum has its own personality hence the personal choice. Its the members that give it its personality that matter ........

I'd have quality over quantity any day.
There's an awful lot of decent threads that wander off topic on net (this thread is case in point!). They end up with little chitchats between a small number of people. But if that's what people like then fair enough but it ruins it for me. I voted no as I don't think the two boards would blend well together as they each have their own identity that suits the people that use them.
I would be concerned that if the sites joined, the mega posters would turn the new one in to their own little chat site again.
