Scirocco Recall

Post by weebadbilly »

I've just been informed by someone at a VW garage, that there is a recall on some Sciroccos. No details as of yet, but it has something to do with the boot dampners and the bolts not having the correct protection against rust. This may only affect early MY09 models, but unsure. Owners would be better telephoning their garage.

Mine had its 1 year service yesterday and the dealer was up front about the "enhancement" as it's being termed. Brackets were replaced.

its not a formal recall and hardley a safety issue, if you book your car in for warranty work or a service this is flagged and parts get ordered and done as a matter of course

Your dealer should be contacting you about getting the brackets changed. Volkswagen formally sent out the notice on 21st August to all dealers, and the reason i knew about it quicker is because i know someone who works in parts at a VW garage. I have also just received a letter from my dealer, who talks about phoning to get the missed 'enhancements' rectified, but already have it booked in at another garage.
