I would suggest speaking to your salesman and tell him you want to know, and if you still get no joy tell him/her you are going to speak to VW customer service. With the market as it is can't see why you are having to wait this long for a bl**dy build week.

Re: Dealer updates - lack of!
I feel you pain.
I placed an order five weeks ago, paid deposit week after, and I still havent' received a order confirmation or receipt for the deposit I paid.
Chased the dealer 3 times now, and all they can say is "it was definately posted, 99.9%" first was allegidly lost in the post and the second was posted back end of last week, although it was supposed to posted beginning of the week.
I even escelated it to the Sales Manager who assured it it had been posted last Friday and to speak tyo him if it didn't arrive by Monday... hold on a sec, why wouldn't it arrive it's been posted!
So chased again today, once again assured it had been posted, but this time, the salesman would and i quote "if still in the admin tray!, post it personally".
WTF.. I've been really busy at work, and can do without the stress, so really I've let them keep giving me excuse after excuse, but Monday is the deadline!
You'd think they'd apologise and say they'll send it recorded delivery at the least. This is what I would describe as Customer Service, but alas I'm stuck with the status quo. My fear is, it doesn't bode well for getting updates or changing any part of my order (premier mats). You'd think they would look after their customers, especially in the current financial climate.

Mate
I'd can the order, get your money back, and go to another dealer or find one of the stock models that matches your spec (if there are any) and buy that.
My dealer was awesome but I guess I was lucky.

Same here. I ordered last week and was given a receipt and build week before I left.

During my order, I could ring my dealer at any time get him to log on and check the status, go there in person if they think its a joke get your money back they won't be grinning then.
Your spending 25K with that garage if they can't pick up the phone and give you 5 mins, they don't deserve your money, sounds harsh but how often do you buy a new car?

Mine was built when I ordered it about 4 weeks ago - still no sign of it
When I phoned the dealer the other day for an update the message came back "he is too busy to talk to you" not impressed
I do miss my Honda dealer sometimes who were allways totally spot on!!!!

Re: Dealer updates - lack of!
it makes me sick to be honest, not just vw dealers but pretty much every main dealer i have come accross, their attitude just stinks! It is about time there was some independent audit done of these places to check their standards and drastic action taken if the service is poor.
I have e-mailed the business manager at my dealer, as no joy from the salesman.

Re: Dealer updates - lack of!
I must admit, I've dealt with some dodgy dealers in the past, but this has to be the worst experience I've ever had. What really annoys me, is that when I placed the order (by phone); the dealer chased me for a week to pay the deposit!
What's so difficult about posting an order form and receipt! it's not rocket science. If I weren't getting such a good deal, i would certainly have cancelled by now.
On the cancellation front, what are my rights. It's past the 14 day cooling off period?

My dealer said my deposit could be returned until the order got a confirmed build week on the system.JaseW wrote:On the cancellation front, what are my rights. It's past the 14 day cooling off period?

Re: Dealer updates - lack of!
Glad to hear you got an update and that the car's on it's way
I've been away on business yesterday and today, guess what... still no paperwork!
Call to the dealer tomorrow ; If you feel a shudder, don't worry it's not an earthquake
