Scirocco R Release Date?

Im looking to place the order for a Scirorro GT 2.0T with the options listed in my sig panel.

It will be replacing my current company car Nissan 350z (ducks the flying objects :oops:). I need the car by Feb 2010 as my current company car goes back then.

I had originally intended to wait for the R model but wondered if anyone had any idea of the official UK release date?

Im getting worries as the dealer said the waiting list is approaching 6 months for a new build scirroco so may have to go for a non R model (not that that's a bad thing).

Democars will be at the dealers mid of august, so i guess it ll be availible something around semptember

there are bound to be some stock cars if you are flexible on spec, i thought they officially went on sale in September, anyone who has said they have ordered have merely put a deposit with a dealer to get em a place in the queue

Yeah but what about discounts?

The only option I'd be interested in is 19's from the base spec, and the blue paint.

I guess we could see some stock cars in that spec.

I have just inquired with a dealer on this topic and he said apparently it will Jan 2010

I went into my dealer on Saturday and asked about the R model, He said they should have a demonstrator mid september - early October by delivery to customers is likely to be March at the earliest.

I explained that i was concerned about ordering a high spec 2.0 TSI GT when the R model is just around the corner. They agreed to allow me to order the 2.0 TSi GT in the spec i wanted and then gave me the option to change to the R when it is realeased after i have test driven the demo. That way i at least get a scirocco for when my current contract hire car goes back.

The dealer said the sciroccos are basically walking out of the door so if i change to the R they will easily be able to sell the other car that i orderd.

Colour: Pewter Grey
Options: Vienna leather
19" Lugano Alloys
DSG gearbox
Parking Sensors
Cruise Control
Tyre pressure monitor

Was very impressed on the test drive...DSG Gearbox is amazing!
