Unless the MY2010 has included the chrome pipes on all GT models - has anyone got a 2010 140 TDI yet?

I have a 2010 140TDI and it DOESNT come with chrome pipes. sorry to dissapoint!

Billington.Mark - is your 2010MY 140TDI a GT model? If it's not then it's possible that VW are putting chrome pipes on the GT's but I doubt it - the chrome is more likely to be engine specific than model/trim specific.

Hi,

Mine is a GT 140 (MY2010) and doesn't have chrome pipes. Think I've seen posts to suggest the 170GT does though.

All common rail TDIs have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and all Scirocco fitted TDIs are common rail. The pumpe-duse (PD) 170 TDI (as fitted to the MK5 Golf) has a DPF, and the corresponding 140 TDI PD does not.

Check out these aftermarket slash cut chrome exhaust trims. The ones that come factory fitted on standard round ones as seen on the pic above.

I think I prefer the slash cuts - now just to find out where to source them from!!!! (I've been meaning to do this for ages but I only ever seem to be able to find ones, the correct size, with a huge visible bolt and I don't want to go chopping off the bolt either)

Ideally, some polished stainless steal slash cut jobs with no huge visible bolt!

Someone must have fitted these already...

Here's hoping!

Hi from Sunny Stopfordia

Re Chrome Tail Pipes for 1.4TSi 60mm exhaust diameter

Post by RW1 »

Just bought these for my 1.4TSi from BMW.

Part Number 82 11 9401 456
60mm slip-on.
£30.20 + VAT for the pair.

Appear well made. Good tight fit. Grip via the two elongated indentations.

They pushed on most of the way. Last 10mm required a few light taps with a wooden mallet. Slash cut doesn't quite match as VW have cut the Scirocco's exhaust pipe ends at a funny angle beside the slash angle, ie. the cut through the pipe is 0ne o'clock/seven o'clock.

C.

Or order from here as I've just been told they are now obsolete 02.12.09 in the UK.
http://www.ms-fahrzeugteile.de/-Auspuff ... -48-0-0-0/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They won't fit a 2.0ltr exhaust tailpipe as I believe it is 64mm O.D..

(Although I did look at original BMW Chrome Rims for the exhaust of the 3 Series E36 328i. Fitting Sedan, Coupe, Convertible and Touring models. Diameter approximately 68mm. Bit of crafty work on deeper indentations should make the slip-on grip work for the 2.0ltr. Similar slash cut off.)

Has anyone ordered this particular exhaust trim from the Hong Kong supplier. Would be interested in any comments on quality, ease of fitting and delivery?

Don't know about chrome tail pipes but most other stuff I've bought or seen from HK ebay sellers is all cheap 2nd rate copies.
With some things quality issues are not critical but generally with automotive stuff you need decent quality. Probably find your chrome tailpipes start rusting after a couple of months.

I used them on my Passat2.0T and Rocco 1.4TSI . They are made of high quality stainless steel
Those tips that I have been installed on the Passat are almost 2 years and no rusting.
Fitting is as easy as turning bolts & nuts.
Shipping to UK takes about 12 days.
