Stereo issue

Post by Nuclear Fusion »

Hi, good to be among fellow owners of the scirocco at last! Quick question about the radio function on the standard head unit. I cant get the unit to pick up any AM stations such as 5 live etc, nothing only static when searching. Was going to go back to the dealer but thought it might be something really obvious that someone on heere could answer and didn't want to look a complete prune :D Anyone experienced something similar. Thanks in advance. NF

It's not something I have really bothered about as I only tend to use the FM. I have noticed that it is worse in certain areas. I have just been and tried it and the only one it picked up was 909 but Ihad to tune it manually.

Thinking of getting one of those portable DAB transmitters , think there called Pure Highway for £70. Not happy about having things stuck on my windows but i need to be able to listen to football on my travels. Im assuming that upgrading the head unit to DAB will entail buying a new head unit and lots of financial outlay!

the downside on the dab is you lose the TIM function which you can record traffic reports when the car is off so their is a trade off, used the TIM function previously and miss it as it helped avoid jams

Hi,
Can anyone confirm from the manual specs, if the DAB radio is future proofed or upgradable for DAB+?
