Rear wiper only working when using sprinklers

Rear wiper only working when using sprinklers

Hi,
rear wiper on my 2008 Scirocco only works when I use front windshield sprinklers, it turns on for two wipes. However neither back sprinkler or back wiper on its own work when pushing the lever.

I've already changed the wiper lever for a new one, no result. Any ideas guys?
