Xenon Headlight Replacement

Post by Sharp1790 »

Hi,

I am replacing my passenger side Valeo Xenon Headlight, I have been quoted £300 by a car breaker for it and the control unit. I am struggling financially so I really need to make sure this is the correct part. The numbers on the control unit is correct but the actual headlamp itself I am so confused on.

If the control unit matches does that mean the headlamp is correct also. Sorry I know very little about cars in general.

Thanks.

The control module and headlight will each have their own part number. The module may also have to be programmed to your car.
Do you have to replace both the headlight unit and module? You they are separate units and if only one is broken / not working you may get away with just replacing what isn’t working / broken.
For example, if you have a damaged lens but the unit still works, you can remove the module from you old unit for use on the replacement unit and code versa, if your own unit is okay but doesn’t work you can replace the module.
Hope this helps.
