Rough idle and squealing

Post by RichZTT »

This issue started on Friday and following a search on here I think I’ve diagnosed the issue as the PCV failing. I’ve ran a Carista check and have misfires in all cylinders, lean code too, I’m hoping replacing the PCV will solve the problems.

What I want to ask is would these issues give me unusual MPG readings? As my readings show as if I’m driving a Ferrari (around 15mpg)

Is there a sensor that could need replacing? If so what is the sensor name?

Carista is from memory the same as Carly, great bits of kit but more for coding really in my opinion.
I’d get the codes read properly and go from there then post your results.
I think if the PCV was at fault you would have noticed it gradually rather than it just happen.
No point replacing any parts until you know more
What engine do you have? Mpg differs massively between models.
Just out of interest have you had a coding done recently?

It was the PCV, the diaphragm had a massive split. Replaced the whole unit and idle is back to normal, cleared the fault codes with Carista and they have not returned so far.
