Hi all, I need your help and advice again.
Scirocco 2.0 Tsi 2013 plate
My car battery recently died so I took it to Halfords. They fitted this battery - HCB 096 Calcium 12V 680A 75Ah
Firstly, is this suitable for the car? Secondly, I noticed that when I try to accelerate at around 2500-3000 revs the car shudders and struggles to respond to the acceleration. This has happened at 50mph and 70mph in 5th or 6th gear. I don’t know if the situation auto corrects itself because as soon as that happens I ease off the gas. Anyone know why this is? And if it’s related to the battery change? And what can be done to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: HELP - Acceleration issue after changing car battery
First thing you need to do is scan the car to check which fault codes are stored. I very much doubt that the issue has anything to do with the battery change and yes that battery is suitable for the car.
Based on your description, it sounds like a misfire under load which would point towards coilpacks / plugs.

@Cuprabob - you were right. Fault codes pointed towards a misfire on one of coil packs so the standard test of switching them around and seeing if it jumps, which it did. Problem solved. Thanks again for your advice.
