My 2009 Mrk 3 Sirocco thinks I am Germany (I believe) instead of UK. When I pull up the map it shows a different country and even my car moving around it when I drive!
Does anyone know a way to change this to my location?
I looked online to find out how to do the factory re-set, but when I confirm the reset nothing happens.
Thanks,
CD

Re: Sat Nav map location change
When earlier posts have reported similar it’s been the aerial at fault. The aerial is in the roof beesting. Then theres a signal splitter that takes the signal from the roof aerial and splits it into different signals, something like fm, dab, gsm and gps. A number of separate colour coded cables take the various signals to the head unit.
Try a temporary new gps aerial. They cost about a tenner from the bay for generic one, look for gps aerial, you need one with a blue fakra connector if i recall correctly. Try it to diagnose if that fixes the fault. If it does new beesting aerial or signal splitter required. Or just tuck the new aerial up under the dash, flat and as high as possible so it can get a signal through the screen and dashtop, and keep running on that.
If the temporary new aerial doesn’t fix it then its something else and i can’t help. Sorry. All info 5 years old so you’re relying on my memory so check what i say before spending money! I’m not responsible and denying everything if it goes pear shaped.

Indeed, almost certainly the shark fin aerial. I had this on mine back in 2015.
