Scirocco Recall: A12/0909/17

Post by Inkey$ »

Just a heads up in case anybody hasn't had this sorted or been alerted. I did a random recall check on my 2009 car and got the following A12/0909/17 recall alert. Turns out there's a pretty serious ABS/ESP issue on cars built between 20/5/2008 and 28/8/2010.

https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/consumer ... /17&lng=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm headed to my local VW dealership after calling VW customer care and raising a case.

Hope it's useful info for people.

Just beware some owners have has issues after the update has been done. There is a thread on here about it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it

Great info. I tried to search earlier but didn’t see anything. Will get it sorted, but with one eye on potential linked follow up issues which I guess they’ll be liable to sort too.

Yes, they are liable for any consequential issues but sometimes the delay between the update and the issue can cause difficulty.
