Engine note changing when rotating jacked up wheel

Hi all, i ended up selling my scirocco last year but im hoping you guys can hep with a problem my sisters car is having.

She's having some juddering while braking so i decided to jack her car up and see what her discs and pads were like. She has a manual and while in neutral it was quite difficult to spin her front wheels. Also, when trying to spin them while the engine was running, turning a wheel with my hands was having an effect on the engine note.

Every time i turned them it was like i was increasing the engine load and the revs was change.

I'm thinking it might be clutch related and it is not disengaging fully? But could it be differential or gearbox?

Hi. Every vw car ive had does this. As far as i can tell the revs will change as the powersteering pump needs a bit more umf from the engine to operate. Hope this helps you

ok interesting, just to be clear i mean rotating the wheel not changing the steering angle. my mistake with the wording i used.

Ahh sorry. Then maybe the juddering is not caused by warped discs maybe abs pump need some attention.
