I agree with you totally. Just chopped in my Megane R26 for the Roc. Two different entities entirely..... The Roc can't touch the megane for traction of pace, but the style and comfort and build quality is streets ahead.DavidH wrote:Not for me that one. The new renaultsport Megane looks awesome though, and will no doubt be a great drive. I like my 'roc though, does everything well, looks confort, fun, build quality etc etc. The last renaultsport i has (clio r27) just wasn't durable enough, cloth started to fray within 10K miles and i managed to break the gearbox (which has never happened to me before, ever) . The Clio 200 has a revised box though i gather but the cup chassis is even stiffer now, and it was fairly useless on B roads before, sod all traction, and couldn't cope with braking bumps or mid corner bumps, just no traction. Good track day car though. The scirocco absolutely destroys it cross country though with it's super supple chassis. It's just faster everywhere in the real world.
I just realised that was all off topic, but it sprung to mind. I like my Scirocco!
yeah the R26 is an effective machine alright, i think the new RS Megane looks great aswell.medicsource wrote:I agree with you totally. Just chopped in my Megane R26 for the Roc. No chance! It looks very nice, but there's abolsutely no way you'd fit anyone in the back! If I'd not wanted 4 seater ability, I'd have bought a TT (I'm average sized and couldn't fit in back of a TT without injury!) and a 2 seater.adamj wrote:Yeah right, sure loads of people with Rocs on order will be having second thoughts now....![]()
