2.0 tsi rocker cover oil leak
Hi, has anyone ever had their rocker cover changed on a 2.0 tsi?
I have a small oil leak coming from the back and heard the chain needs to come off just wondering if it's worth it.
Cheers

If it leaking it will need doing eventually.
Im not sure about the chains coming off. I though it was just a gasket that would need replacing.
There are TSI engine rebuilds on youtube. have a look and see but id expect just a gasket tbh

I've looked and can't seem to find much on it, but apparently the chain has to come off and it's huge amount of work involved
Re: 2.0 tsi rocker cover oil leak
Id get a second opinion.
Re: 2.0 tsi rocker cover oil leak
the valve cover just seals the top of the engine, cant see it having anything to do with the chain

One garage is a vw specialist and the others have been people with sciroccos on Facebook scirocco club page.
Will try and look into it more as it doesn't make sense.
Apparently it holds the cams down?

Cams are bolted down
I stand corrected. its not a gasket, its sealant that is used.

Ok thanks I'll try and find someone to do it but they are all saying the same thing and it's not worth doing as I'm not losing on the dipstick
Re: 2.0 tsi rocker cover oil leak
i havent dont this myself my from memory of working in the engine.
Remove the coil packs, and loom, them remove the valve cover bolts and it should pull off once you break free the sealant

Don't know why a vw specialist is certain the chain has to come off. He was recommended by loads of people and knows his stuff.
Re: 2.0 tsi rocker cover oil leak
maybe he thought head gasket?
then chain would definitely need to come off for that
