Scirocco 2.0tsi or Golf Ed30 both DSG

Post by Celica »

Contemplating early entry models on these motors from a budget point of view

Anyone had both and how they compare

I like the scirocco for being a bit different, but since looking I almost spot one daily!

The Ed30 being more powerful from factory with conservative figures I believe, but I’ve had a mkv r32 before.

Would remap either

I’ve got two kids 7 and 10, was tempted with the mk2 TT but the rear space isn’t ideal.

Thanks

a scirocco 2.0 tsi is basically a mk6 gti

The Edition 30 is in line with a scirocco R. exactly the same apart from the shape, one says golf and the other says scirocco

If you have two kids a golf (if 4 door) would be better I assume. But as u dont need child seats the Scirocco will do fine as well, the legroom in the back is actually surprisingly large for how it looks! U will be surprised.

Ed30 all day, its a de-tuned s3... Little map and you've got 300 ponys at your right foot

He only mentioned the tsi so guessing the R wasn't an option!

I’d go for the ED30 for the extra power and space.
