Hi guys, i just removed my pin 11 of my headlight and shutter stopped.
See photo underneath of pins on my headlights. (no pin 3,9,13, 14 occupied)

For the coding diference between me and David i found these:

Byte 11 bit 0 unchecked, 6 checked (on David's)
Byte 15 bit 1 (unchecked on David's)
Byte 16 bit 6 brake lights without terminal 15 on active (unchecked on David's)
Byte 17 bit 1 (checked on David's)

@mr Savy: Pin 4 on the face lift xenon needs continues 12V on ignition via fuse 5 and 6. The pin 13 you moved from pre-facelift headlight only sends 12V when the cornering light is active. I think that is the problem.
I also don't know if old AFS can work with new headlights. I never thought it would because on the wiring diagram i don't see canbus wiring to the headlight on pre-facelift xenon. Has the beam height regulation and dynamic cornering worked for some time? I suggest install new AFS so it can work with the new xenons. But i don't know how suspension works on the facelift.

did the small led worked after you changed the settings? i noticed that before i had the old BCM the shutters worked differently than the new BCM i installed. so maybe yours may worked differently too

I haven't changed the settings but i will try.

I think the shutter can work with both T52C/48 and 49 and T52a/5, T52C/46.

T52a/5 and T52c/46 also have double function in wiring diagram as high beam output (halogen) and cornering lights (xenon).
That's why Marcus says pin 11 is cornering lights, because i think this function of T52a/5 and t52c/46 function is shutter on new bcm on pin 11.

The same story with T52C/48 and 49 they are shutter wires on pre-facelift xenon to pin 11. On the new bcm they are the output of the small led light on pin 8. That is also correct with wiring diagram.

All with the right coding you can invert them i think. That is what makes it difficult.

Ok i found out:

Byte 25 bit 2: high beam via shutter active installed

Checked: T52a/5 and T52c/46 are shutters
Unchecked: T52c/48 and 49 are shutters

If i uncheck it the small leds come on with high beam lever because i have connected T52c/48 and 49 to pin 8 on my headlight. But i don’t use them.
I think they are also setup with vcp on the Scirocco R to function different with the T52c/48 and 49 output.

new light dont work with old AFS, you need to change, nothing work, not even hight regulation.

on original VW wire diagram it say:

left

A5 to 11 haedlight
A11 to 6
C48 to 8
C26 to 10

right

C52 to 6
A44 to 10
C46 to 11
C49 to 8

I have tested all the coding differences but they don’t change anything.
Because byte 18 on David’s car is also coded 00 the little square leds must also be setup with vcp to have side/parking light function from T52c/48 and 49. If you connect it like the wiring diagram.

Is the 5k0 937 987 AB BCM really required? We're using the 5k0 937 987 M that came with the MY2011 car, but we're having issues with LED lights not turning off (also with the rear lights) and/or flickering.

Could it be that the newer BCM is more LED-ready than the older one?

I change my BCM to 5k0 937 987 AB taken from a facelift scirocco R and everything work without any coding. If you can find a facelift roc that had bi xenon headlight probably it will work but not surw if everything else will work

As far as I know, the 5k0 937 987 AB BCM is required. A friend of mine did the facelift swap and everything works fine with the AB BCM

I managed to get a 5K0 937 087 AB (I think the start post incorrectly states 5K0 937 987) from a pre-facelift Scirocco.

It has H122, just like @Roy_01 mentioned in another forum. I'll try to flash the BCM with the latest firmware (1173 according to this website) this weekend. It now has 0170 according to the label.

[*]Hello on the plan you change the place of the cables on the headlight pin or on bcm?

Try to fit the same but cannot code AFS module. The code was rejected.
Wiring and fitting of sensor, AFS and headlight were done

Is any one here know how to code AFS module?
The module already parameterized by VCP.

Old module was 8P0907357K
New one is 5M0907357F

You need the new AFS specific for the facelift Scirocco or else it will not work.

I got used AFS but flash with new firmware and parameterized with VCP using file for scirocco facelift.
Now long coding is all zero, and got following faults.

02071
02233
02234
02656
02657

Try to enter new coding, but it shows error 10.

first of all, i would love to thank everyone who contributed to this thread.
i hail from singapore and trying to get my hands on a used 2011 scirocco R.

i still think it’s extremely appealing but when i saw the facelift 2016 scirocco’s headlight. it was love at first sight.

so my question would be,
1. can the 2011 Scirocco R xenon projector headlights be swapped/retrofitted with the new headlights with DRL inside?
2. if it can be done, what parts would i need? do i need to change the bumper and hood to fit it?

the latest post from @mrsavvy90 mentioned that we could alternatively buy a used one to retrofit? does it mean a plug and play?

all your help is very much appreciated.

Hi,

its a big job , from a preface lift scirocco r you have to rewire the existing harness to be suitable for facelift lights.
I had to also install level sensor as mine didn't work with facelift headlights and was different.
make custom adapter for afs and buy afs from facelift scirocco r so no coding or adapting needed .

very worth it in the end

hello! thanks for answering!

when you say buy from a scirocco R, a used piece? or just buy new via stockist?
when you say big job, but it’s all inside? do i need to replace the bumper to fit the facelift headlights?
