Replacement CAT help for a 2009 2.0 tsi

Post by Gazonline »

I've got to replace the cat on my Rocco (injectors got stuck open and emptied a full tank of fuel through it and now it won't pass emissions test on mot) obviously a new one is silly money, having trouble finding a second hand one from a Scirocco, can anyone tell me which equivalent golf model used the same cat???? I think it maybe the Mk6 GTi, but have no way to be sure. I live out in the sticks so will have to travel or get one delivered so need to be right first time.

You may be better off getting a whole second hand oem down-pipe from someone who’s upgraded their exhaust. That will already have both cats, rather than splicing in new cats to your existing pipe.

Or you could always upgrade to a sports-cat pipe yourself [emoji3]

Thank for the advice Jeffw, I had considered upgrading to a sports cat but I'm a bit isolated and my mechanic is a bit old school sadly.
