Today's The Day! [PICS added]
Finally!
VW Delivery driver just rang, he will be here at 10am!
Only 30 minutes to go - I've put my shoes on early so I can go out and meet him straight away, I can't believe how excited I am - it's like being little at Christmas again!
Hopefully I won't drool all over it

Re: Today's The Day!
Just seen you're in Yeovil, I'm only down the road in Weymouth! I'm hoping to get a Scirocco next March (2010).

Re: Today's The Day!
Its here, its all mine!
Unfortunately I don't have an ipod cable, the MDI cable is there but no cable to connect it to my iPod everything else is spot on!
iAmbu - Clearly a southwest Scirocco owners meetup in the pipeline!
I might even be cruising through later (quite often head down that way for a drive!) - altho very carefully for fear of damage this time lol.

Congrats
Get on to the dealer about the ipod cable. It's free. They should post it out to you.

Re: Today's The Day!
Congratulations, glad everything is in order bar the iPod cable, at least that can be easily posted out to you!!
A meet-up is definitely in order, I'd love to check out your new beauty - I presume it is the new 2010 model? (with new steering wheel and white instrument cluster display?)
I am often in Yeovil too (better stores than Weymouth!) so will keep an eye out for any '09 reg Rising Blue Sciroccos!
All the best
Matt

Re: Today's The Day!
Ahhhhh it's everything I was expecting and more! Drives so beautifully, I'm chuffed to bits with it!
Spoke to the Fleet Sales guy where it came from - he's sticking the cable in the post today
Glad I went for the Dynaudio package - the sound is excellent.
Doing my best not to plant my foot all the way down at the moment, keeping the needle away from the red line - but its so hard!
Bah that's it, I'm off for another drive again... can't help it!

Re: Today's The Day!
Only a 140 - but its easily quick enough, plenty of torque etc - I was a bit annoyed after the 170 came out that I hadn't ordered one of those - but to be honest I can now see I don't really need one
Re: Today's The Day!
Assuming it's a MY2010, does it have chrome tailpipes (as the 170 does)?skirkybaby wrote:Only a 140 - but its easily quick enough, plenty of torque etc - I was a bit annoyed after the 170 came out that I hadn't ordered one of those - but to be honest I can now see I don't really need one

No not shiny chrome just standard but it is a MY2010 - love the white led display and the new wheel.ayeaye wrote:Assuming it's a MY2010, does it have chrome tailpipes (as the 170 does)?skirkybaby wrote:Only a 140 - but its easily quick enough, plenty of torque etc - I was a bit annoyed after the 170 came out that I hadn't ordered one of those - but to be honest I can now see I don't really need one

Re: Today's The Day!
Have been far too busy it!
Will get some taken this evening after I give it a quick wash - stupid rain has left little dried up drop marks all over it! And the stupid lanes I live down have covered the front in bugs already
Need to buy a load of new car care products clearly as I only have a load of old autoglym and no wax (the old mk3 golf didn't look new and stunning as this when I got it so I while I cared awfully for it, waxing and polishing was always pointless).
In regards to the above point - anyone want to recommend a list of products? I fancy getting a whole new set to be honest.
Have heard good things about Maguiars. Would also like recommendations into equipment if possible.
I.e 2 buckets/grit guards/washmits/drying cloths? etc etc...

Re: Today's The Day!
The large percentage seem to be recommending Chemical Guys Wheel Guard or Poor Boys Wheel Sealant...
I've already got myself a bag of goodies in preparation, including Mer window cleaner & rain guard which I am testing them out on the house windows currently...

Re: Today's The Day!
Buckets with grit guards are a must. Lambswool wash mitt, a large good quality drying towel.
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss is a great shampoo.
Paint prep.
I plan to do this on my new one this weekend too.The paint is not likely to need claying, I have not inspected mine closely yet, but if you feel the paint has some contamination this might be worth doing.
CarLack 68 - Nano Systematic Care, as the paint is new, this is a great all in one product ie cleaner and sealant. Topped off with a good quality wax. I have a selection as you can imagine, but will probably go for Victoria Concours. A good winter wax is Collinite 476s. Lasts ages on a well prepped surface.

Re: Today's The Day!
Excellent!
Thanks for the advice guys - will deffo get some decent product come payday (annoyingly the 15th of the month).
Gave it a just a good shampoo and dry this evening and here are the pics, sorry for the messy yard area... in one of them you can see my poor old mk3 golf in the background it looks sad .
Please follow the link through to my flickr page to take a look - I didn't want to have to resize them all and make the post huge. Hope its not too much hassle
