Dsg Noise

Post by Bazandbeanz1 »

I have a 2009 Scirocco 1.4 160 bhp with the 7 speed DSG box. At low speed it makes a horrible noise. This disappears at around 35/40 mph. It also does it in reverse. The car drives fine, goes in and out of gears okay. Only done 45000 miles on 2009. Any ideas?

Are you sure the noise is coming from the DSG?

Check you don't have a stone trapped in your brakes between the disc and the backing plate.

Also, the rear brakes are known for seizing and causing them to squeal after they bind for a bit.

I jacked the car up and seems to be coming from the rear of the dsg box. It tends to sound less harsh when stopping one of the wheels moving when off the ground. Would love it to just be stones behind the disc and backing plate but I'm really not that lucky.
