Post by Lewis1988 »

Hi all,

So after last nights heavy frost killing my battery

I Have had to replaced the battery and now my passenger window will only go half way up?

Also if you pull door handle the window drops an inch as if it thinks it's at the top of its travel

Any help is appreciated

Have you tried the window reset procedure that is outlined in the manual?

If I can remember correctly you lower the window and keep the switch down for 5 secs then pull the switch up and hold switch up for 5 secs.

If that doesn't work try disconnecting the battery again.

Tried everything I can think of

Battery on battery off
Using both switches
Using key

Nothing won't come up any higher.

Let's hope it doesn't rain tonight

Lewis,

Glad to see you are online as I type this!

My car occasionally throws a wobbly about where it thinks "closed" is on the windows. I usually cure this with:
a) Ignition on, but engine does not have to be running
b) Lower the offending window completely by holding the button down, until the glass has completed its journey, then release the button
c) Raise the window again in stages by holding then releasing the window button, until the glass it quite close to the top of its travel
d) Raise the window a bit more until it engages in the door "frame" position where it needs to be to be fully closed
e) Switch off ignition

If you've had battery issues, and are a frequent driver of short journeys, make sure you put the car's sidelights on, rather than allow it to use dipped headlamps or DRL setting, so as not to drain the battery in advance of tomorrow.

If the window process described does not work, and you have already tried the method in the manual, then I'm stumped.

All done!

When the window rolled down in the night it must off been frozen to the seal.

A full strip down and new seal and all is ok
