Scirocco or Golf 6 GTI?

Post by Zanic L3 »

Hello,

I'm right now looking at a 2015 Golf VI GTI (250hp it's chipped no or is this a factory setting) and I'm kinda liking it also the price is much better then it is for a Scirocco for the same condition (well less HP though).

Is the golf GTI a better chose? I personally like the Scirocco more but a Golf isn't that bad either...

I have owned both and liked them both for different reasons. I think the Scirocco is the best looking car produced by VW in a long time. The golf is more practical for a family. If it is 2015 then it should be a Mk VII (7) not VI (6) as the MK 6 was built from 2009 to 2013. The MK 7 came with 2 engine outputs 217HP or 227HP. The Golf R has 296HP. The 250HP would therefore seem to be chipped. The problem with chipped cars is they can suffer from clutch slip and problems with the DMF (and you do not know if they have been on track days!!) The Golf is a good car but just different to the Scirocco. The Golf MK7 has been quoted as the Golf that is the best all rounder out of all the Golf Marks by one of the car magazines recently. If you have a family it is ideal for everyday use and also fun!! It does not have the 'presence' on the road of the Scirocco and as you say you prefer the Scirocco shape more so you may not enjoy it as much? You do not state what extras it has. Adjustable suspension is the one option I would look for - especially as you have been used to that on the Scirocco.

I nearly spat my coffee reading your post SciroccoPL since my cousin just bought a Golf 6 GTI :D He's 22. So pretty accurate statement.
