Lunch in S-mode

Post by finetrond »

Guys. Just wanted to share the feeling of a day well spent. Located a mountain road of decent surface quality. Set the DSG to S. I hardly saw 4th gear at all during the 35km drive. Just enjoyed the sharp bends, crests and dips up the mountain. Ended up at a resort with maybe 12 guests before we came. had some food, walked the grounds for 30mins and then back home.
That is the way to enjoy the Scirocco. I got it because the Golf GTI looked boring in comparison and the Golf R was too costly. Never regretted getting the Sciocco. Always want to fancy it up with 19" wheels, and carbon this and that. But it does the job nicely the way it is and 35 profile tires on them roads might not be so great.

Enjoy your day, and plan for a engaging drive in the weekend.

the ride is fine on 35 profile having come from 18'' wheels its hardly different really.

Agree, I love the R more and more I own/drive it and am failing to see what i'd replace it with. M4 or TTRS maybe...

So after looking at the map app in the pc the route was set. We had a nice day out, about 200km drive. A good part of it on roads as in the picture.

GPS says it's gona take 3 hours to drive the 89 km to get back home. Yeah right. Another day well spent. there was nothing to stop and look at on this trip. But we where out for a drive not sightseeing the back country.
Enjoy the weekend.

going for 19" wheels.
They'll be mounted on a M4 convertible in Yas Marina Blue with red interior. No comp package, it was a bridge too far.
Collection day tomorrow. Expecting a good night's sleep!!?

Dar it is. Adjustable suspension is cool i guess. did really try it so far. The engine settings are fun, get the exhaust a bit louder. What no carmaker since has go right since old volvo's is the high beam lever. Push away to engage??
