How is the quality of it and installing it easy ?
Re: Tom's Bagged TDiR : FULL 2016 R Fakelift complete!!!
Quality is brilliant, could be mistaken for OEM. My bodyshop guy was so impressed by the quality and fitment, he couldn't believe it was an aftermarket bumper haha. Installation is easy, the hardest part is wiring the DRL's as you have to splice the loom, but apart from that, super straight forward.Trebs wrote:How is the quality of it and installing it easy ?

Sweet
I do like the front bumper from the 2016 Model more than those on the R 2012
Would it still look good with the rear bumper from the R 2012 Model ?

Re: Tom's Bagged TDiR : FULL 2016 R Fakelift complete!!!
Yesterday I picked the car up after getting a suuuper subtle oem+ satin silver wheel refurb, plus fresh tread all round. It's subtle, but makes a big difference - the car looks so fresh now, i love it!
Here it is:
The car was also treated to a major service too, so it's running sweet as a nut.
In other news that may take some by surprise, the wheel refurb was my second to last modfication for the rocco (last mod to be revealed soon). The rocco is going to be for sale soon, to make way for another project and something i've wanted for a long time. I was umm'ing and ahh'ing about respraying it, but being quoted £4000 for a full respray (windows out, shut lines, boot shut etcetc), I decided I would be better off putting it towards a new project and something a little different.
I am sticking the scirocco out until September, as I've been exclusively invited to a show in Europe that's invite only, and one i've always wanted to go to, but afterwards the car will be up for sale. If anyone is seriously interested please let me know, but i'm expecting a lot of time wasters!
So, its the start of the end...

How much do you want for the Scirocco?
Re: Tom's Bagged TDiR : FULL 2016 R Fakelift!!! FOR SALE SOO
Thank you!! So much time (and money) has gone into it, it will be a sad day to see it go - hopefully I can find it a good home!!BASSCUBE wrote:WOW just WOW.

Price wise, I would like around 12-12.5k - i have spent that alone in the past 3 years on modifications and parts for the car alone, but obviously never going to get that back.

Hey! A couple of small updates for the car, and the final finishing touches complete.
A few months ago I was approached by a professional photographer who usually shoots models for magazines or promo adverts. He wanted to build a portfolio of car shots, and asked me to use my car to practice on - I couldn't say no! On Friday, we went out and got some snaps. There are plenty more to come, but he has sent me the following "teasers" over so far - i love them! (They also make amazing desktop backgrounds )
I also spent Saturday adding the final finishing touches/modifications to the car. I wanted to do something slightly different with and decided to add an air duster gun to my air tank/boot build set up. Bearing in mind I have never used compressed air for anything else before, I attempted to fit the air gun and air line myself (mistake!!). I drained the tank to what i thought was completely, no more air was coming out yet my controller was saying there was 30psi still in the tank. I couldn't drain anything more, so went ahead to unscrew the plug in the tank. I started to unscrew and could hear air leaking from the plug. Stupidly, I expected the plug to pop off to what I can only describe as much like a champagne cork so continued untightening the plug - I was pretty wrong.
The plug was forced out from the pressure in the tank (bearing in mind my head was right next to it inside my boot!) and it made an almighty bang. My ears were ringing, to the extent i had to check I wasn't deaf Luckily I wasn't, the new plug was fitted up and all was well - but lesson learnt the hard way - dont unplug anything from your tank until it has 0 PSI left in it!!!!! Either way, the result is awesome and got so much attention yesterday at Vag at the Manor. Here it is:
I also fitted a colour coded front VW badge, along with a subtle silver strip at the bottom of my bonnet. I just fancied something different and unique, I don't dislike it but I don't think I like it either... what do people think?
Here are some extra pics courtesy of easyrider from the weekend:

Interested how a high mileage car can be arguably more reliable than a low mileage one.
GLWS. Considering the mods, reasonably priced. But you would get far more back by returning the car to standard and selling the air ride at least separately.
Im sure plenty of people will swap body work too.

Re: Tom's Bagged TDiR : FULL 2016 R Fakelift - NOW SOLD - 11
SOLD
The scirocco has now sold and gone to its new owner - Kris @ Forge Motorsport. I'm sure he will do a great job with her, can't wait to see his plans become reality - atleast I know the car is in good hands!
A final picture, as Kris drove her away....
However not all doom and gloom. Deposit has been paid and I will be collecting this stunner next Saturday!
I've met some great (and not so great) people through the forum and owners club. All the best to you all.
Peace out

Did you go for a high mileage Cayman?
Because higher mileage engines are more reliable.
