Project.JN Jetta MK6 1.4 TSI

Post by lalalaboy »

Hi all. as title stated. I have a Jetta MK6 with a 1.4 twincharger engine. Decided to post it up here since there are scirocco with 1.4 twincharger engine as well, so whatever mod I done can be applicable to scirocco with 1.4 twincharger engine.

If I'm not in the right section admin can move my thread to a proper section. thanks.

Anyway I just recently got my Jetta on Feb this year. Here some pics.

Why are you posting about a Jetta on a Scirocco forum?

The jetta forum mostly don't have 1.4 twincharger. I figure with my engine, posting it here would be a better solution. or not? I'm still new to forums

To be frank, that was a pretty turdish welcome.

In every other owners club I'm in there's other motors present, especially when they share a lot of the same parts/architecture.

I imagine this Jettas going to be a bit of a sleeper by the end of it, welcome along chap

I found a DIY on removing the sound insulation on the supercharger. It was a tough DIY. took me awhile to do it. I read that removing the sound insulation would help cooling and improves fuel efficiency and also best of all, that supercharger whine.

Image
Here is the sound insulation. There is still another part of the supercharger intake that has more sound insulation. haven't got the time to try and remove that yet.

Finally got the time to get this done. Did timing before and after I installed racechip. This is in km/h.

Image
0-100 7.7s stock
0-100 7.0s racechip

after installing chip. Got more torque equals more wheel spin. so initial start isn't that great.

Image
0-160 20.1s stock
0-160 16.9s racechip

0-180 27.3s stock
0-180 21.9s racechip

They're decent times. If you can get a slightly better launch you might dip into the 6's on the 0-100 run, new tyres on the cards?

This RaceChip? Is it just a plug in piggyback?

running on stock wheels and tires. putting on better grip tyre would help a lot. Yes its RaceChip. Plug and play engine tuning.

Be careful with those, 9 times out of 10 they just fool your ECU into adding more boost/fuel by telling it it's not performing as it is, you had it dynod?

yes I know how it works. once my warranty is done I be doing proper tuning. nope. in my country its difficult to get it dynod as those performance shop that have dyno machine only use for their own customer cars.
