2.0tdi recall on remapped engine.

Post by Jimijokela »

Hi, has anyone done it?

I contacted the company who remapped my car and they said that just go to vw on recall and they will do the remapping and it doesnt matter that i have custom remap now.

Just wondering because VW doesn't want to fix remapped cars and wont pay anything if it breaks something. The guy who remapped was certaing that it doesn't break anything though.

As said, the fix will overwrite your remap and a remap will overwrite the fix, so not worth getting done and that's before getting into some people having issues after "the fix".

Of course it would wipe the remap.
Remap is just software on the engine ECU.
If you get the VW software it over writes your previous ECU.

My remap wiped out that shitty VW remap. I noticed after 200km doing about 1l/100km less and way less DPF regens. Go for it!
