Hi, Can anyone with a TDI Scirocco go out to there car and tell me what the oil is which is supplied with the car and also the spec of it. I'm asking because I need to buy some edge 5w30 for my dads audi and am wondering if the common rail TDI in the scirocco uses the same, if it does I'll buy a big bottle, if not I'll just buy a wee bottle.

The top up oil I got with my 2.0TDI is Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W30 "emission control".
The 5W30 that you suggest should be fine if it is fully synthetic. I've had many VW approved top up oils from various manufacturers - Esso, Quantum, Shell - the VW dealerships seem to change their suppliers every other year!
