Well just been out to the Scirocco 1.4tsi and tried to start it.
It starts then cuts out within 2 seconds, each and every time i try to start it.
I did replace the battery in the remote control the other day, not sure if this is the problem.
When i turn the key in the ignition i have no dash lights at all, but the headlights and radio, heater work fine so i do not think its the battery on the car.
I tried the spare keyfob and key and it does the same when trying to start the car.
Anyone any ideas ?
Thanks.
Car will not start .. no dash lights .. help please

Is there a dash light which shows immobiliser?
Usually it cutting out and dying within a couple of seconds is an immobiliser issue.
Have you also scanned the car with VCDS.

Thanks.
Panic over it was a faulty battery in the keyfob.

A faulty battery would not cause those symptoms. The battery in the keyfob is only used for locking / unlocking function. This is reinforced with the issue also happening with the spare keyfob.
The immobiliser RFID tag within the keyfob is energised by a coil in the ignition switch when it is read. Therefore the keyfob battery plays no part in the immobiliser or the car starting.
Sorry to say, but the issue will probably arise again.

Cheers for the info.Cuprabob wrote:A faulty battery would not cause those symptoms. The battery in the keyfob is only used for locking / unlocking function. This is reinforced with the issue also happening with the spare keyfob.

My spare works fine as well.
If the other keyfob messes up i will invest in another new one.
