Anyone help me out here,
Around 3 months ago check oil level light came on randomly so I checked it... it was fine but topped it up a little.
All was fine until last month
driving and it came up again so I drained the oil and changed it as part of a service.
It was fine for a Week or 2 then when going on a long drive (150miles) it came on for around 5 minutes then go off for abit then come back on.
Only seemed to be happening on the motorway and after this trip it was fine and no light was on for over a week.
But this morning it came on again at start up and stayed flashing when driving to work which is just over a mile
I know the oil level isn't low as I changed it and checked it after the light coming on again.
Anyone help is it a sensor on its way out of a underlying problem
Check oil level light
Re: Check oil level light
Worth checking the sensor.
Beyond that i would have replaced the oil pick up pipe. these are prone to getting blocked on Vag engines. its about 12 quid to replace it.
Drop the oil and remove the sump. I think its 2 bolts to remove th get the pick up pipe off. worth a try

Re: Check oil level light
It won't be the pick up causing the oil light to come on....if the pickup was causing a problem you will get a screaming beep and 'oil pressure' warning on the centre MFD.
The sensor is probably faulty - do a code scan if possible, if its wiring you will have intermittent fault codes logged. If no codes logged then the sensor float level is just sticking....you will need to replace the sensor (its on the bottom of the sump and can be replaced without removing the sump, oil of course needs to be drained first)
