Sumatra!
Hi all.
Been lurking these forums for a while now, so thought it was time I made some posts. I'm an absolute n00b with cars, this is the first one I've taken a real interest in, so forgive me if I'm not too hot technically. My bro is into vintage VW's so he has been helping me out a lot
I bought my 60 plate Scirocco just over a year ago, with a little under 15, 000 miles on the clock, which I thought was decent for a 4 year old car. It's a 2 litre TDI diesel.. I've wanted one in the Sumatra grey colour for a long time, it's a discontinued colour I believe so hard to come across.
First little mod I did was to debadge the rear and then spray the VW badges a matte black.
After a few months, I bought some 30mm H&R springs to lower the car. Here is what I looked like after lowering
After that I had a break for a few months, deciding what alloys to get. I was never keen on the Lugano's really, although I know they are popular. I sold my 19" set on ebay, and bought some 19" Bentley GT Continental ones. I had these powder coated in in matte gun metal (dark grey). There were no centre caps with the alloys so had to buy some off ebay, and sand them down to make them fit in nice and flush.
Without centre caps:
And now finally, with the 'B' centre caps:
I also installed those gas struts, had to cut away nearly all the foam under the bonnet to make sure they sit right. It was bending the bonnet. Looks good now though, much better than the stand.
Cheers for looking.

Re: Sumatra!
Love this colour on the Roc - i'm usually a bit marmite on Bentley wheels (and a big fan of the luganos!) but I like these! Next mod - metal pedals ?

Haha cheers man. I wasn't going to go for Bentleys but they were going for a decent price and I like the 5 spoke look so thought I'd have a try.
Yes metal pedals for sure!

Re: Sumatra!
If they are aluminium caps, make sure you use a little vaseline when putting them on otherwise they'll bond to the valves as they corrode.

Looking good.
What size are the alloys? They make your calipers look tiny lol
Nice one for trying a differnet colour instead of the typical red, blue etc

Ahh. I've completely forgotten what the dude I bought them off said. I was trying to mimic some A7's I saw on another Roc which looked mint.
