Hi Guys,
Taken the car to car-washes and VW to many times and the paint is in a bit of a mess with swirls, Whats the best polish to use to remove swirl marks and bring the paint back to life?
Ill probably give it ago by hand first,
Looking at:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/car-polis ... od_29.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But I have read that it's not as effective on hard paint's and VAG cars apparently have quite hard paint.
Then there's Menzerna polish but there are so many different types I have no idea which to go for?
Cheers
Dave

The roccos have rock hard paint ... save your money and get it machine polished properly. Hand polishing will not touch it.

I used scholl S3 with a green hex logic pad with a DA on my friends car for a pretty good single stage.
Ideally you will 2 stage with a rotary using an orange and scholl 3 and then refine with white / black pad and scholl s40 or similar.

Agreed. I'm a Menzerna and rotary man myself.xjay1337 wrote:I used scholl S3 with a green hex logic pad with a DA on my friends car for a pretty good single stage.

FG400 is pretty good, but doesn't have the cut of S3, but S3 finishes just as nice, if not better. But it is really expensive.
The other option is Sonax 4/6 Perfect finish.

I've got S3 as well ... I'm not a fan. But then I've been using Menzerna for over 10 years now! It's what I know.xjay1337 wrote:FG400 is pretty good, but doesn't have the cut of S3, but S3 finishes just as nice, if not better. But it is really expensive.

Yeah it's a case of whatever you work best with! :-)
Re: Best swirl mark polish
for minor swirls a heavy filler glaze like prima amigo (great on dark paint) works amazingly well and then top this with some wax to protect.
Swirl marks are also inevitable on paint and heavy hard to avoid...I vouched never to own another black car as the swirl marks really wound me up and very hard to stop...even with a 2 bucket wash method, carful washing, etc...
