I Guess this is normal ?

Post by skippy »

Hello,

I parked today at the side of the road and unknown to me I had left the indicator stalk down when I switched off. The dashboard 'pinged' at me but no obvious reading on the MFD. I locked up but when walking away from the car noticed that the nearside sidelight was on :?

I walked back to the car and as I did a bloke in an old'ish Clio yelled at me and said, its because you have left the indicator switch on mate!

Sure enough, when I moved the indicator back to the 'off' position, all was normal again. Had not seen that before, but having thought about it, I have seen VW's from years ago with just one sidelight left on (parking light).

Being new to VW ownership, I guess I just stumbled upon one of their 'features' :)

Many thanks for confirmig Jon, I must confess to being surprised that a Clio driver was able to tell me what the issue was. He must be familiar with VW's!

If memory serves me right, I had it on my very first car, a VW Polo Mark II '83.
And the wait continues... :kickcan:
