Yes just search on google: Selfstudy 2.0 tsi vw and you will find it.
Also there are selfstudy programms for DSG 6,7 and for the powersteering etc.
Very handy to understand your vehicle.

Didnt get round to taking it off today, but having a look at the picture with its rear location is looking awkward to get to?
Anyone taken one of these off at home or is it to the dealers?

What fault code do you have? In fact the systems has 2 egr's valves a low pressure on the back n345 and a high pressure valve n18 on the front. If you have a code you can see which one is the problem.
On YouTube there are some video's of the front valve cleaning/removal.

If i google this fault code, it must be the N18, the front egr.
So a little bit more accesible.
Here you have a video of the removal on an audi engine: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ok I've taken the item off & given it a good clean, however the unit looks like the throttle body?

Do you have a picture? The valve has to be operating the small pipe coming from the right.
It must be just above the throttle body if im right.

Hi Lugano, see the link i posted. It's the second picture with the blue square in it. The other green square is the "throttlebody/shutoff valve".

Hi Roy

Do you know best way to pinpoint the fault given there are a few possible causes? Guess on mine i'm trying to understand if it is just the EGR valve that is faulty and whether a clean would suffice or if it'll need replacing.

Possible Causes
Fuse(s) faulty
Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18) faulty
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18) stuck/faulty

Possible Solutions
Check Fuse(s)
Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18)
Check/Replace Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18)
Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

Any one know if VW have issued for a recall? Saw another thread where countless people have had an issue with this code across the VAG range

That's the throttle body on the picture. The egr valve is above this thing. You have to pull the engine cover off.
Just follow the stainless steel pipe on the seconds picture, thats the exhaust gas pipe leading to the egr.
Cleaning isn't a guarantee that the fault code will dissapear but the cheapest thing to try.
I don't know if it's a recall. You can always ask the dealer, maybe you are still in warranty?
I even heared that the egr cooler was leaking and causing this fault. Or an electric problem is also possible.
I have disbabled the egr when the car was remapped. It's closed to a few % otherwise it will cause a fault code.

Roy

I suppose you are saying the silver pipe (just above throttle body flap) on the right is connected to the egr valve but it doesn't seem to be exposed for removal?
