NEW MEDIA SYSTEM SAT NAV SD CARD?

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 scirocco from a main vw dealer but did not notice the cd player didn't work. I took it in to my local VW centre to have the issue fixed.

They installed a whole new media system to fix this issue and have now asked me to bring them my sat nav sd card/cd so they can load on the maps as it is all currently in german.

However, I when I was sold my car it did not come with an sd card or cd.

I am not sure what to do now?! Any help?

What system do you have fitted? A picture would help, but the actual system would be better.

it is the RNS 510 system

RNS510 is a dvd only method of loading the maps on. The disc isn't usually supplied with the nav unit when you buy the car, and costs about £180 to buy from the dealers. If this is a warranty replacement unit, then just inform them to load you the maps on. Where they get them from is entirely up to them really, but if there were maps on the old unit then you should be reasonably expected to have maps on the new unit when they return it. V13 are the latest maps.

spoke to vw head office and they had a word with my local dealer. theyre sorting it soon, thanks for your help viking

Yeah, dealers not wanting to do the job they get paid for by the sound of things.
