Long time no see. I still have the Scirocco, though, after almost five years. I've been trying to find a successor for it, but nothing just quite does it, at least on my price range. So I guess a I'm still holding on this for a while, at least I just bought new summer tires for it and retrofitted OEM bluetooth unit. My Scirocco is also getting a new timing chain assembly next week (the joys of owning a combination of 1.4 TSI and DSG7 :p ).

I retrofitted the bluetooth module yesterday. I got a complete OEM retrofit kit from Carsystems.pl, with the module, OEM mic and harness. Everything went smoothly and quickly, I even got my friend to do the requiered coding. But then today, I tried the bluetooth audio and encountered some strange behaviour. BT-Audio only works for 30 seconds or so. The head unit becomes completely silent after this and only "booting" the car seems to help. Or calling to someone. The small phone icon appears at the screen when this happens and changing the audio source helps nothing. I also have a mute icon on MFA. It seems the car thinks I'm having a phone call or something.

Anyone seen this before? Is it my head unit (RCD-510, 3C8 035 190), the bluetooth module (7P6 035 730 N) or my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.3)? Any ideas?

After almost 6 years and 90 000 kms, the time has come to let her go. Have to still replace the cracked windshield and failed DSG, and then find a good home for my Scirocco.

She's still a good looking car that could quite not be replaced with anything currenty on market (and on my price range) so decided to go on the powertrain route and ordered a BMW M135ixA. Can't match the looks, but the M135 is truly a fun car to drive. Horribly expensive one, though.

It seems that I got away with only replacing the clutches. Had to only pay a part of the labour costs so I'm fairly satisfied with that...

What comes to Bimmer, it seems that I'm going to get M140ixA instead. The are no production slots available for M135i's any more, but it's not 100 percent sure yet.

Sorry for a late reply. Scirocco has been sold to the new owner and I'm a happy owner on BMW M140i xDrive now. So have not visited the forum for a month on two.

Anyway, wheels are OEM Savannah (for previous Tiguan), 19" x 9" ET33. Car was lowered by ~20 mm with OEM lowering springs (i.e. Eibach), no rubbing or other issues at all.

I feel like you selling the car has been the end of an era, loved your build! I finally got myself a candy white Scirocco a couple of months ago and I am going to do the same bulb replacements as you in the coming month! :D

I also think lowering it 20mm looks absolutely perfect, not too much but not too little, hope you are enjoying the new BMW buddy!
