Intake manifold sensor issue

May want to have a look at the mainfold sensor first before going to a garage to see if there are any cosmetic wear to the arm / leaver (as the motor itself would not fix the issue)

Guys I had a problem with my scirocco and found the arm had worn away which meant the lever slipped off which gave the fault on my diagnostics. So what I did is followed similar instructions to this guy where i had added washer and screw onto the motor to ensure the leaver did not attach going forward. Tested the car and at high revs, all clear (for now).

I've just had this happen on my Sep 08 2.0 TSI w. 21k miles.

Quote was £800 for parts and labour but got 50% goodwill from VW

Ughh I've just back from the dealers and been quoted £850 for a new manifold fitted
My scirocco is a 2010 with just 16,000 on the clock.
The light only came on for about 20 miles and went out again but I had the diagnostics done for free after reminding the service manager at my local dealer how good I was about the damage they did to the underside of the car during the last service.
So I'm wondering if anyone has managed to get a discount from their dealer, I've asked and they are off to look at it but I imagine they will say no due to the age.

I was quoted £650.00 from my local dealer for my 2010 Golf GTI last year with a possible small goodwill gesture from them although have two cars regularly serviced by them. Got it done at a local VW idie specialist for just over £400.00. It takes about 2 hours. VW UK customer service are a joke most times and put dealers under pressure to give the discounts so in most cases these are small.

They said no to any discount as thought they would.
For now I'm just going to wait until it comes on again which I imagine it will sometime soon, my wife says she will follow it up, she loves to harass people so I might just point her towards VW customer service and see what happens.

Evening, first time poster here.

I've been driving my 10 plate 40k mile roc around for months with this P2015 issue. Mechanic friend with diagnostic tool had a look and wasn't too worried about the problem - I haven't noticed anything either. Local VW dealer quoted me over £700 for a fix when I took it in for servicing. Looking around it seems VW customer service not keen on helping out. Anyone else had any luck with contributions lately? Sure I saw something about our US cousins getting it done on recall, could use it as leverage?

Also had the famous water pump leak but luckily it was within the three month warranty period I had when buying second hand - with 21K on the clock!

Any advice appreciated.

Hello everyone just wanted to say I had the exact same problem. I have a 2013 VW scirrico 2.0 tsi. Engine management light came on then few days later went then came on it stayed on for around 8 months then went didn't come back for a year

Now 3 years later its come on and stayed on I had to make sure the light was off to pass its mot in the past but this year management light wouldn't go off. I could previously reset it and it would stay off for a bit.

I bought a sensor today had that fitted cost £80 with fitting light came off so passed mot drove home management engine light came back on again so going to get it fixed whole new manifold I was quoted £700 by local mechanic before fitting and vat so he's going to order me that in next few days

My car has done 92k miles 2013 plate thinking of getting a new chainbelt as I think that's around the time should get it changed but I don't know much about cars only going by what a few people have said
