Evening Gents,
Could one of you kindly provide me with a model number/link on which bluetooth kit to buy for my RCD510.
Does anyone know if it is possible to change the music via the headunit on an android phone when connected via bluetooth? I'm got a Samsung note edge.
Cheers
Kaz

I think you need one with a part number beginning 9w7 and ending in a letter d or later (i.e not a,b or c).
Try doing a search for more (better) advice.

Most scirocco's are all the same but some are different...

Have a look on carsystems.pl - they have all sorts of modules for sale and could ask them which are compatible! Full kits are available or just the module if thats what you are after

Re: RCD510 Bluetooth module - which one?
Hi, I recently had a similar experience and hope my findings will help you get the right unit (there are about 50 to choose from so it can be a nightmare!)
I recently purchased a Scirocco R with an RNS 510 unit installed; I did not have access to the 'phone' menu (pressing the button would mute sound) and very limited bluetooth functionality (my car would act as a 'headest' for my phone wirelessly but nothing else). Checking under the seat I found I had the bluetooth module "5P0 862 335 B". I'm unsure if this was an original part or retrofitted/swapped in the life of the car, however I did know it wasn't suitable!
I did some research and purchased a VW Premium Bluetooth interface "3C8 035 730 B". The module was plug and play; instantly unlocking the PHONE and BLUETOOTH menus, and allowing full bluetooth functionality and control for an Iphone 6. Success!
To tailor this to your (and hopefully others) queries, I used the following sites to find the right solution:
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/technology/ ... patibility" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Check to see if your phone should be compatible with your system
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... trofitting" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Listing of code numbers for bluetooth modules (check for those with 'YES' across the board for full functionality)
Possible suggestions for full bluetooth functionality:
- 5N0-035-730-D (2010)
- 3C8-035-730-B (2011)
- 3C8-035-730-C (2012)
- 3C8-035-730-D (2013)+ Wifi support
- 3C8-035-730-E (2014) + Wifi Support
There is nothing to suggest that you *have* to pair up the module to the year of your car, however I took a punt and matched the headunit with a 2011 model and the results were spot on.
I had the advantage that I already had a system installed (So the box was a simple switch over); if you need the whole kit then I'd recommend http://www.carsystems.pl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. However, My purchase was an easy 5 minuite search on Ebay & a case of matching up the code numbers!
Hope that helps, good hunting!
