I previously had an '09 TDI, which I sold in October last year (which you will find if search this forum). I had always planned to get an R eventually, but my plan was for that to perhaps be sometime in 2017. However, for the last 3-4 weeks or so a car had been advertised with basically the exact specification I wanted, and for a very attractive price. After considering it throughly, I decided I would regret if I never even went to check it out. Now the problem is that the R model was never sold as new here in Finland, therefore there are basically no used ones available. So to get one I would always have to travel abroad.
Anyway, after flying out to go to check out the car last Thursday, I now have the car here. After some ~1500km, the last 400 in Finland with summer tyres during the finnish winter

I was considering if it was worth sharing my car here as I don't really plan any major mods of changes to the car. But then I thought about how much I enjoy reading about the stories of other cars so I decided to contribute myself.
Some info on the R I got then. The car has almost every option that was available at the time, fully equipped the same as many other MY2013 cars I have seen in Germany, as it was coming towards the end of its cycle before being replaced by the facelift version. Wanted a MY2013 since it has the latest (Golf 7) climate control, which looks much better to me, combined with the fact that the last MY of any given model is usually the best.
Specs (there are some differences between GER and UK equipment, so some of these were STD on UK cars I think):
- MY2013 (registered 07/2012)
- RIsing Blue
- DSG
- Panoramic Roof
- Light Assist
- ParkPilot
- DCC
- Vienna leather seats (fully elec. adjustable)
- MFD Premium
- RNS510 navi
- Dynaudio
- Lugano Exclusive black
- Dark rear side and rear windows (65%)
- Keyless Access
- Winter Pack
- Mirror Pack
...and I probably forgot/missed some.
So all together very well eqipped.
