Post by Firstcarscirocco »

Hi All,

I have a 2010 1.4 tsi 122ps

I work in a garage and was thinking of doing the service here,

Should I go with original parts (filters) ? or other brands are good ?

also what oil is best ?

any tips too ?

Thanks

Use OEM parts, which you can buy from TPS. Your garage should get a get a good trade discount.

You can use any 5w30 oil that meets VW504.00 / VW507.00. Which brand is best is subjective and down to personal opinion. For reference the factory uses Castrol Edge.

I would second using OEM parts, they may be a bit more expernsive but they are definitely better!

Oil wise, I use Castrol edge to, I would never use any of the cheaper oils you can get for peace of mind for the car.

I always use Mann filters and for oil there are plenty of good brands, Kendall, Castrol, Shell.
Kendall is one of the best but expensive.

It's fine. Bosch, Mann, Mahle are good quality filter brands. What kind of viscosity did you buy?
