BT box and E MFA

Post by TheRustySheriff »

I was doing a few bits to my car over the weekend when i noticed a polystyrene covered box under the drivers seat. I pulled it out as curiosity got the better of me. I have read numerous posts on here and have since discovered what it is.

The problem i have is, the BT phone options no longer work and i can't access my E MFA either. Im guessing they are interconnected somehow and is there any way i can reset it? I also noticed there was no wires at all feeding into it although there were sockets for connecting wires to it.

Im at bit of a loss so help or advice would be great.

Chees in advance!

If you have E MFA then that would imply you have a Fiscon Bluetooth kit which would usually be fitted behind the head unit. The genuine Bluetooth kit which you have found looks like it's been disconnected.

That depends on what you were doing to lose it really.

You must have pulled the connector out when removing it.

The battery had died while i was fitting LED sidelights and lights in the footwell. It was while i was in the footwell i noticed the box. I pulled it out the car but had no resistance from a comnected cable. I've dug around and can't find the cable to plug back in. It seems the box was sitting loose.

As I said, if you have E MFA add on in the dash display then it's not a feature of the OEM Bluetooth. If you have a Bluetooth module under the drivers seat that is disconnected then that is not the Bluetooth box which you have been using for both Bluetooth connection and the E MFA add on feature. Disregard the box under the drivers seat as far as diagnosing your lost features go and look behind the head unit to see if you have a Fiscon Bluetooth kit behind there. It's also possible that you have a Kufatec E MFA Add On box (similar to a Polar FIS) which also gives the E MFA add on without the Bluetooth, but I suspect as you did have Bluetooth and E MFA add on and they've both gone that you had the Fiscon kit behind the head unit.

Quite how you managed to "lose" them both I don't know though.
